Competition Details

Thanks to the success of the Music City Songwriting Competition, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau is again conducting this worldwide search for the best original song and is partnering with Craig Morgan, Black River Entertainment, SIRIUS|XM Satellite Radio, American Songwriter Magazine, NowPlayingNashville.com, GAC, Southwest Airlines, f.y.e., and Renaissance Nashville Hotel to make it all happen. All entrants will receive a copy of Craig Morgan's newest CD, "This Ole Boy." The winning songwriter will be flown to Nashville for radio and TV interviews, a writing session with a professional songwriter, a single song publishing deal, recording session, plus more. Entries will be narrowed down to the top 25 which will then be judged by a panel of top names in the Nashville music industry, including recording artist Craig Morgan, Grammy-winning songwriter Tim Nichols, ASCAP's Mike Sistad, Alex Torrez and Nashville CVB President Butch Spyridon. Judges will rate each song based on the following criteria: melody, composition, originality, lyrics and, most importantly, commercial appeal.
